Q & A

Answers to common questions about planning your project. General guidance only; we will confirm details for your job.

Question 1

How do I measure my room?

Measure wall lengths, ceiling height, window and door positions, and the location of plumbing and power. Note anything that cannot move.

Read the answer

Measure each wall at bench height and again near the ceiling, since walls are rarely square. Take diagonals to check corners. Photograph every wall and send the photos with your numbers.

Question 2

How do I choose doors and benchtops?

Start with the benchtop and the floor, then pick door colours that sit well with both. Look at samples in your own light.

Read the answer

Order or collect samples and view them morning and evening. Darker doors show marks more; matt finishes hide fingerprints better. Stone costs more than laminate but lasts longer.

Question 3

How do I read a cabinetry quote?

A clear quote lists cabinets, doors, benchtop, hardware, installation and any extras separately, with GST shown.

Read the answer

Compare like for like: same door finish, same hardware brand, same benchtop thickness. Check what is excluded, such as plumbing, electrical, splashback and removal of old cabinets.

Question 4

How does a project run from start to finish?

Enquiry, design, quote, manufacture and install. Each stage shows in your My project account.

Read the answer

Typical lead times depend on workload and finishes. We confirm dates when you approve the quote and update your project as each stage completes.

Question 5

How do I plan my storage?

List what you own and where it is used. Put daily items between knee and shoulder height.

Read the answer

Drawers beat shelves for pots and pans. Add pull-outs for bins and corner units for awkward spaces. Leave room to open doors and dishwasher together.

Question 6

How do I prepare for installation day?

Clear the room, protect floors, confirm trade bookings and keep access open.

Read the answer

Plumber and electrician timing matters. Make sure old cabinets are removed and walls are patched. Keep pets and children out of the work area.
